Hey everyone, I realize that I made this post pretty late. I have literally been lying in bed all day with a cold and to top that all off I am having issues with my wisdom teeth.
Ok, everyone loves sugar, right? Can I get an amen? No, seriously on a more serious note Sugar is good for skin, despite not being healthy if you eat too much of it. Sugar is a natural exfoliant.
Here’s the deal: Your skin renews itself every 30 days, according to cosmetic dermatologist Naila Malik, MD. Thus, if the old cells remain on the surface and build up, they can contribute to a flat and dull appearance, blemishes and scaling. Exfoliation also helps remove the products that you use.
- 1 Cup white Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Olive Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil (for optimum moisture)
- 15-20 Drops of Lemon Essential Oil
Place all of the ingredients in a bowl and stir until combined. Keep in mind homemade sugar scrubs contain no preservatives so they won’t have a long shelf life.
